Respite care services

When a loved one's need for assistance increases, it's important to listen to your own wellbeing. Gubbe can offer respite for family carers. Gubbe also provides regular substitute care for family carers.

I live 300 miles away from both my parents and we don't see each other as much as we would like. That's why my parents have a Gubbe assistant to help them with anything they need.

Enabling family member's independence and ability to live at home

An elderly or disabled person's independence and ability to live at home is extremely important. Enabling this, however, requires a lot of time and energy from relatives, and it's not always easy to arrange in the midst of one's own busy life—at least not as much as one would like. It is very understandable that the situation can become burdensome for relatives. Gubbe gives loved ones the opportunity to take a breath by being present in the daily life of the elderly person who is dear to you.

Gubbe visits are always conducted by the same trusted assistant, with whom both the elderly person and their relative can build a safe relationship of trust. This ensures that the visits bring joy and benefit to the elderly person and their close circle.

What kind of support do we offer?

A relative's need for assistance depends strongly on the functional capacity of their loved one, but also on everyday hustle and bustle. We make your everyday life flow without guilt.

Assistance with errands and escort assistance is an easy way to get relief for your own schedule. With Gubbe, you can go grocery shopping or visit a laboratory. Gubbe visits can be timed so that necessary tasks are taken care of during the visit.

Developing digital skills for the elderly enables an easier communication channel between the relative and the elderly person. Setting up a new tablet, phone or even television is conveniently accomplished during a visit.

Support for family carers is a moment of respite for the family carer that supports their wellbeing. The family carer gets their own time, peace and the opportunity to fulfil themselves, while during the Gubbe visit, the elderly person has meaningful activities with a familiar person.
