Household deduction

Household deduction refers to relief for personal taxation. When you purchase a Gubbe service, you will receive 35% (from 1.1.2025) of the price of the service back from the tax payer by using the household deduction. The deductible per person is 100€.

You can take advantage of the household deduction for personal taxation if you subscribe to the Gubbe service for a loved one, for example, a parent or grandparent. You can also take advantage of the household deduction when you subscribe to the Gubbe service for your own home. The household deduction cannot be used for a service to which the welfare district has issued a service voucher or other payment commitment.

Here's how to apply for a household deduction:

Indicate the price of the service on the form 14A when you receive your pre-filled tax return in the spring:

  • Gubben Business ID: 2949014-6
  • Total invoice
  • Work share with taxes
  • Keep receipts for work done

Alternatively, report the details of the household deduction to the tax card MyTax, in which case the household deduction also appears on a pre-filled tax return in the spring.

Care allowance for a pensioner

Kela's nursing support is a support for older people and families. The aim of the care support is to facilitate everyday life, functional capacity, rehabilitation and care. You may be entitled to Kela's care allowance if you are retired and your ability to function is impaired and you need help in your home. The pensioner's care allowance is always granted on a case-by-case basis. Care support is not affected by other income or property.

You should apply for support if at least three of the following conditions are met for you:

  • Disability or long-term illness noted by a doctor
  • Impaired performance lasting at least one year or future impairment lasting at least one year
  • An injury or illness that makes it difficult to cope with everyday life
  • The need for outside help in moving, eating, treating illness, taking medication, seeing, hearing, speaking, remembering things or using assistive devices.
  • Need for outside help in the form of home care, cleaning assistance, home nursing, catering, personal assistant or family assistance
  • An injury or illness that causes additional costs, for example, in the form of home care, home care or serviced housing

How much care allowance is paid each month?

The care allowance of the person receiving the pension is determined according to the need for assistance, in accordance with a three-tier level. Special costs caused by illness or injury may increase support. The monthly amount of support is estimated taking into account your overall situation.

Your income and assets will not affect the amount of care support to be paid. If you receive other care support or a disability supplement, these subsidies will be deducted from your pensioner care allowance. If you have special costs, such as medical and medical expenses, home care or home care costs, you may be eligible for an increased care allowance from the base position.

You may be eligible for different levels of care support on the following grounds:

Primary care allowance 83,34 €/month

  • I need at least weekly help or guidance and supervision in personal activities; for example, dressing or washing
  • I have a disability due to blindness or disability

Increased care allowance 181,56 €/month

  • Every day I need help with several personal activities; for example, eating, dressing, washing or social interaction
  • I need active reminders and eye care
  • I am entitled to primary care support and ongoing special costs on the basis of an injury or illness, at least in the amount of an increased care allowance each month

Top care allowance 383,92 €/month

  • I need round-the-clock care and supervision
  • I can only manage on my own for short periods of time

If you have the right front-veterans' supplement as well as an increased or higher care allowance, you will also receive a veteran's allowance (125,79€/month). The conditions for granting a veteran's allowance are already known to Kela on the basis of previously granted subsidies, so it is not necessary to apply for the veteran's allowance separately by application.

How do I take care not to suddenly cut off my support?

The allowance for the person receiving the pension is granted for a fixed period of time. Make sure in good time that you have submitted a follow-up application to Kela before the deadline for payment of the care allowance expires.

The deadline is determined by the decision granted by Kela. A follow-up application must be made no later than six months after the end of the previous aid period.

Can I get subsidies retroactively?

Kela may, on a case-by-case basis, grant pension benefits retroactively, but for a maximum period of 6 months.

Here's how to apply for care support:

  • You must apply for a pension recipient's care allowance by logging into Kela's online banking service using your personal online banking ID or mobile certificate.
  • You must attach to your application a medical certificate C or medical report B that is no more than 6 months old, if the statement contains information that affects the resolution of the case. In addition, all possible receipts for costs incurred in an injury or illness are required to be attached to the annexes. Attachments can either be scanned or photographed, for example, with a smartphone.
  • You can follow the processing of the application and any additional requests for clarification from the same online service.

You also have the opportunity to print the application form for pension care allowance online from this, fill it out, and deliver it with attachments to Kela by mail.

Your loved ones can handle the application on your behalf with a power of attorney submitted to Kela.
