Rehabilitative Gubbe visits help increase physical activity and enable the use of cultural services. At the same time, local people are employed as care assistants for flexible work.
The study examined the effectiveness of the Gubbe pilot project and obtained information about the quality of life, physical, mental and social functioning, living environment and everyday functioning of the clients covered by the service. The study was carried out in three different municipalities, Kuusamo, Kauniainen and Uusikaupunki.
The people who participated in the study lived at home and their average age was 81 years. Data was obtained from 21 people. The research material was collected from the effectiveness studies to be carried out in connection with the municipal pilots in 2022. Data was collected at the start and end points of the pilot project. The average duration of the pilot projects was 6 months.
In particular, there were significant changes in the experience of complaints and symptoms and mood. Complaints and symptoms refer to, for example, experiences of disturbing symptoms such as pain, aches, nausea and itching. Mood refers to emotional states of depression, anxiety and energy
